The US blog was looking a little dusty, but we should soon be able to catch up with our European blogs a nd deliver a regular update!

Hopefully you have already realized a few months ago that our vote button changed; It is now called the “Boost Button”!

If you are a programmer and you already own your blog or website it will not be a problem to set it up. But for those of you that think that HTML is a technical word in gardening and that tags are only used to indicate the price of your next shirt, the following information is for you.

Today, I will explain how to install the Boost Button on Blogspot (also known as Blogger). If you have a blog but it’s not affiliated with this platform, don’t worry we will come back to you soon with an article. There is going to be two articles about Blogspot this one is about the basics, we will see something a little more advanced later.

1.       First, you will need to go to http://www.wikio.com/tools/vote and fill in the text field with your blog’s address and press “OK”. Then choose which button you prefer the most. It will not change anything afterwards; it is just to fit your website.

2.       Now we are going to get behind the scenes. Go to your blogspot dashboard and click “Design”. Then go to the “Edit HTML” tab.

        In this section just over the text area filled with HTML code, there is a checkbox “Expand Widget Templates” check it and you will have access to more code. Do not worry though, you do not need to read it all!  

4.       Today we will try to set up the button under your articles where most share or vote buttons tend to hang out. Use the research function (Ctrl+F for most browsers) to research this line :

5.       This is where you should find the code for share buttons. You should see something like this :

7.       Now we are going to paste the code that you created for your Boost Button just before the closing div tags. It should look like this :

The ‘<!- -vote wikio- ->’ part is just a comment, you do not have to copy it. This is just to help you find your way through the code.

The ‘style=capsulewhite’ simply indicates which button I am using. There are five of them as you should have already noticed.

8.       Save your template by clicking on the eponymous button just below the text area, go to your blog, et voilà!

Once saved, it should look like this:

You may have a different button depending on which style you choose at the beginning. Be aware that to vote for an article it has to be referenced on Wikio!

Hey guys! Long time there was not any update in here. Although those of you who kept an eye out for us should have noticed that our rankings continued to evolve quietly, without any comments. But that is going to stop! We are the 5th day of April and it is time for the Top Blog to be updated just like any other month! Let us explore the modifications as we rejuvenate this blog with a nice hat and the tip of a whip.

In the beer category, ‘Beervana’ take back the crown it lost in December by leaving the ‘Brookston Beer Bulletin’ in second place. This little change in the beer balance may give us a good competition in the next months so pick your side and talk about them. But the really impressive challenger in here is ‘Yours for Good Fermentables’ who just entered our ranking in 24th place!

For those of you that prefer to drink something stronger ‘Imbibe Unfiltered’ is the blog you need as it is our leader in Cocktails and Spirits.  After a few months of struggle they overthrew ‘Alcademics’ do not hesitate to talk about them if you want them to get back on top!

In the art of the needle and stitches , ‘Sasikirana Handmade’ which took the lead last month did not stay on top long and was pinned enough so that ‘Foxs Lane’  and ‘Posie Gets Cosy’ could get back on top. But keep an eye out for the almost white blog ‘Moose and Bird’ which scored 34 places better than last month and is now ranked 18th!

For those of you that cannot sew laces but enjoy seeing or wearing them you should definitely head towards ‘Confessions of  a Lingerie Addict’ new leader of the Lingerie category or its competitor  ‘Frou Frou Fashionista’ but also take a look at ‘BODY’ that gained 17 places in this month’s ranking.

Then if you have any problem while or after using any of the products these blogs are talking about, do not hesitate to take a tour of ‘Above the Law’ or ‘Le-gal In-sur-rec-tion’ as they are this month’s Top blogs in the law field with ‘Above the Law’ also getting above any other law blog!
